Home Management Essentials
Ho.M.E. (Home Management Essentals) is a workshop series for women that offers professional, practical and personal management strategies designed to help make care of the family and the home less of a chore. Through education (theoretical and hands-on classes) and coaching, participants are given the opportunity to learn how to streamline the way they manage their household. We help our participants to reflect on their personal goals for their home and family, and aim to provide the tools needed to assist in achieving their goals. In this way, participants enhance their ability to create a home environment that works best for them and their families.
All Ho.M.E. workshops are imbued with the guiding principle that love gives meaning and motivates us to do the ordinary and the mundane for those whom we care for and about. Our focus is centered on the home as the environment for the growth, development and nourishment of our loved ones.
Currently, workshops are offered in the fall and spring.
Past WorkshopsCulinary and kitchen management topics, with classes such as "The Art of Menu Planning", "A Culinary Conundrum: Making the Most of Left-overs", and "Quick and Healthy Cooking: The Stir-fry". Our lastest culinary session was an eye opener to new ways of cooking fish and plating it with gusto: A skill that takes both Art and Science.
Our workshops have focused on helping ladies navigate through some "unchartered territories" of home administration through courses such as "Cleaning 101", "The Washroom: How-tos and Wherefores", and "The Laundry: Concerning Care for Clothes".
Future Workshops
On Saturday April 24th we are hosting an afternoon workshop for those who love Home Entertaining but are stressed about hosting! Our guest speaker, Leanne Pepper, will share tips on stress-free entertaining. She will also give a demo on a variety of phyllo pastry finger foods.
